Our Vision / Mission
The vision of BRITE is to improve the quality of life of underprivileged Haitian children by giving them access to basic social services such as education and healthcare. Our mission is to deliver community-based social services to the marginalized and vulnerable children of Haiti who are affected by poverty, inadequate healthcare and illiteracy.
We endeavor to accomplish our mission by:
1. Building quality schools in the rural areas of Haiti in order to curb the migration of children to the capital (Port-au-Prince) who are at risk of becoming Restaveks (child slaves) and/or fall prey to gangs and criminal activities
2. Equipping at-risk youth with the necessary skills to become self sufficient and productive citizens of Haiti through mentoring, educational and vocational training
3. Fostering the exchange of resources and ideas among educational institutions
4. Making available necessary services and resources to strengthen communities and families
5. Implementing collaborative community-based initiatives that empower the local communities to become self sufficient and self-supporting
